Rehabilitation of Chatwell Feeder Road to Benefit Bellevue Chopin Pichelin Farmers

The Government of Dominica on Wednesday broke ground for the $6.3 million rehabilitation of the Chatwell Feeder Road linking Bellevue Chopin to Pichelin.
Funded under the European Union 11th EDF B Envelope, the upgraded route is expected to boost agricultural production and serve as a critical by-pass during construction works on the Loubiere to Bagatelle Road Rehabilitation.
“There are several benefits to our farmers and communities; it reduces travel time, it reduces wear and tear on farmers’ vehicles, it reduces in-transit damage to your fresh produce to name a few.
“This is not just a feeder road; it is our road to creating sustainable employment for our youth… and it is important that I point out to you that while the world is going through difficult times, we are here investing $6.3 million for farm access roads,” Minister for Public Works and the Digital Economy, Hon. Fidel Grant told the groundbreaking ceremony.
