Loreen Bannis-Roberts Appointed Dominica’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom
Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has announced the appointment of Her Excellency Loreen Bannis-Roberts as the country’s new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Bannis-Roberts brings a distinguished record in diplomacy and public service to her new role.
From 2016 to 2022, she served as Dominica’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, where she was a strong advocate for sustainable development, disaster resilience and the unique challenges of Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
Mrs. Bannis-Roberts has also held several ministerial portfolios, including Community Development, Culture, Gender Affairs, Information, Tourism, Industry and Private Sector Relations.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit expressed confidence in her ability to strengthen Dominica’s ties with the United Kingdom, describing her as a leader whose skills and experience “will be critical in advancing our foreign policy priorities and addressing outstanding issues of importance to both our countries.”
On behalf of the Government and people of Dominica, the Prime Minister extended warm congratulations to Mrs. Bannis-Roberts and wished her every success as she takes up her new responsibilities in London.
