Dominica to Implement New Minimum Wage by December 1, 2025
Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that a new national minimum wage will be implemented on December 1, 2025, just in time for the Christmas season.
In his independence address delivered on November 3, 2025, Prime Minister Skerrit said the decision reflects the government’s commitment to fairness, dignity and shared prosperity, ensuring that every worker receives just compensation for their labour.
Cabinet has reviewed the report of the Minimum Wage Advisory Committee, and further consultations with employers, trade unions and other stakeholders are planned to finalise the new rates.
The last adjustment in 2021 saw increases across several categories, including unskilled labourers, agricultural workers and security guards. The upcoming review aims to further strengthen workers’ purchasing power and align wages with current economic realities.
